Into team sports? ⚽️ Go kick around the soccer ball w/ some friends, or shoot some hoops 🏀 if you’re solo.
Do some body weight 💪🏽 workouts in the comfort of your own home. Go on a hike & enjoy the scenery⛰
Take a dance class 💃🏽 or join a yoga 🧘🏾♀️ studio.
The point is
1️⃣To not force yourself into things you hate &
7️⃣Not limit your options
Just bc you see ppl w/ an intense gym 🏋🏾♂️ regimen or training a certain way doesn’t mean YOU have to follow suit. Granted, you WILL have to push yourself & fight resistance 🤜🏽🤛🏽when kickstarting any new fitness regimen, but you shouldn’t be forcing things you hate. ✋🏽
Personally, I’m in the gym 6 days/ week. Bodybuilding style splits are MY favorite 😸 & what makes ME happiest. I wouldn’t compete 👙 if I didn’t enjoy the process.
& just for funsies, I like switching up the gyms I go to on the weekends. Not crazy! 🙃 it’s neat to mess around w/ different equipment & explore a different setting / vibe. Even if I mostly am visiting 24 Hr super sports lol that multi- pass is worth it! 🤑
Sooo moral of the story- find YOUR fit! 🙌🏽 Pick activities you enjoy, 🏐 grab some friends 👯♂️ & make it a social thing if that’s your jam, or make it your “me time.” 😌 That’s it! Now you can say #fitnessisalifestyle 😉😘
Quand il y a de la bouffe sachez que j’ai toujours ce sourire 😄 Alors oui ça peut en « choquer » certain(e)s de voir ce que je peux manger, mais sachez que le reste de l’année j’ai une bonne hygiène de vie; alimentation saine et activité physique/sportive 🏋🏻♀️

Who else is sick of logging what you eat every 2 seconds In My Fitness Pal?
Keep reading and I’ll show you how to manage your diet without having to weigh or log a single thing.
I know a lot of us can be good at “controlling” our diet only when logging and tracking our food intake. But the moment we stop weighing or logging our food, we tend to throw our goals out the window. .
All of a sudden, we start to eat whatever we feel like whenever we feel like it - usually OVER what our body actually burns to make matters worse.
So it’s like you do great only when tracking and relying on a free app, but without that crutch, you have no real sense of:
🍴what to eat .
🍴when to eat .
🍴how much to eat and .
🍴in what combinations.
Using it to track your food intake so you can “control” your diet isn’t an ideal way to go about it AT ALL because it’s a flawed way of looking at things.
Don’t blame yourself - we are NOT taught:
❌how to eat for our goals .
(NOT the same as being healthy)
❌be happy .
❌successful with all of our endeavours
So what often happens is, we rely on something external when what is really needed is an INTERNAL solution: .
✅To LEARN the strategies, .
✅Habits and .
➡️Eat for your goals in an
➡️Intuitive and balanced manner .
➡️Without having to give up your fave foods or ➡️Starve yourself all week
The cookie🍪 cutter✂️ approach really sets a lot of people up for failure cycling up and down in a constant roller coaster of inconsistency. So no matter how many pounds you lose while tracking, 9/10 you gain it back and lose a little self respect each time.

To be honest I thought it would be much harder to do daily workouts. I was also skeptic of this whole challenge when my husband signed us up without telling me. It was mainly the "no alcohol" and cold showers part that made me go! 😲 ▫️
So far I've learnt so much about myself, and this challenge has shown me I'm capable of so much more than my mind is telling me.
I've also not been sick this year, I truly believe it's due to cold showers I've been taking daily❄️🚿 If you find yourself stuck in a funk and in need of a change, I truly recommend you to implement these 6 habits daily for a period of time 👇
- cold shower
- healthy eating
- no alcohol
You can do so much more than your mind is telling you! .

Your brain wants you to make a decision and stick to it. It wants you to build it up with trust that you are the kind of person who sees things through. Build that confidence and trust.
The only time you should be changing lanes is when you realise that you have gone off course and need to get bacķ to where you are headed ...or if you realise after trying that direction for a while that maybe it wasn't quite the right plan and that maybe you need a new one. However, the only way to know that is to make a decision to get to the end no matter how long it takes.
Finally feeling like I’m getting back into my fitness routine, had a freaking awesome photoshoot with @themichaeldowns yesterday and it really made me excited for my future fitness goals! Can’t wait to see what the pics look like and to work my booty off to reach my goals😈

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is the unintentional loss of urine that can be caused by a physical movement/activity. Aka heavy lifting 🏋️!!
There are various causes for SUI and no reason to be ashamed about it. However it is a sign that something is not connecting. The pelvic floor consists of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue that make up our abdominal cavity. In some cases when there is an imbalance between the abs, pelvic floor, and diaphragm it allows loss of urine to occur in response to load and intensity (pressure). ———————————————————————
For most females It is not an all the time thing, and is specific to movement/weight. Good thing to know is just like having a weaker shoulder there are solutions to fix this imbalance!
1. Identification/assessment of issue
3. Function/stability of abdominal cavity
4. Response of pelvic floor with movement patterns 5. Pelvic floor and diaphragm relationships
6. Integration of all into alignment with movement patterns and breath to create a foundation for better fitness.
Clearly this would be difficult to do alone. This recording was what I consider to be my best run at the end of the 90 minute workshop led by @veraverse at @bespun in Hollywood- where I’ll be returning today for another masterclass. I have been deeply committed to taking weekly Russian exotic classes, which are hard and fast. I love it, but sometimes my body screams at me to slow down! More and more I am compelled and drawn to the slower side of dance. I think of these slower movement experiences as moving meditations. Even though it IS learned choreography, it is also very intentional.. my inner voice (yes, I have one and it is very overwhelming sometimes LOL) says things like, ‘stop looking in the mirror, you’re making yourself look stiff’ and ‘just feel it, get out of your head’. Getting out of my head is a massive challenge for me and moving slow really helps to soothe my mind. I will prioritize connecting with myself more so that I may perfect my movement and mind. 🖤🌸. Just thought I’d remind everyone I do wear real clothes to work or they’d fire me. JUST KIDDING—today I FINALLY hit my first goal weight so of course a cheesy collage with bad markup text is in order...right? Maybe. 🤔
I have struggled with my weight since teenagerhood, finally facing my stress-eating ways around 2004 when I hit 220 lbs and then dropping about 80 of those pounds. But my weight has gone up and down since then depending on what’s going on in my life, and last year about this time I was up to about 165 pounds again—and I decided to take control of the situation and lose weight not to be healthy (duh who does THAT amirite) but to PR in my spring marathon. I started noticing the weight loss working at the 2019 Cowtown half marathon, and then my PR was accomplished last spring. After that, however, I didn’t make any real forward progress with my weight loss. I did manage to not be 165 pounds anymore, but my real goal was to head towards 145...which I finally got back to working on around January and then freaking hit this morning at 145.4.
The graph in the second pic makes me look like I haven’t reached my goal yet (it’s plotting a monthly average) but I’m taking my first 145 anything right now because I haven’t seen these numbers since around 2010 or so. But I wanted to include the graph to show that sometimes reaching your goals takes a long time...and being an old broad in perimenopause doesn’t make it any easier. But you just gotta keep plugging away, making reasonable changes until it starts working. And then make bad collages for Instagram to celebrate. 🎉
I was recently told I’m not beautiful anymore because I lift and that I’ve ruined my body by gaining too much muscle. I’ve been told I look like a man and I’ve lost my femininity. But I don’t care about the negative opinions. I love this lifestyle. I love this sport. I love being strong. I love seeing the results of my hard work. I’m doing this for me, not for anyone else. I have days where I pick myself apart, like anyone does. But at the end of the day, I know I’m beautiful. I know I look good. Because of my amazing support system (my man, my coach, my sister, my friends) I’m getting better at loving myself.
